Link Opportunities for SEO(artofmoney)

Here are my observations, they should give you some good ideas about how to gain some high quality incoming links, that you may never have discovered if you didn’t do your market research properly.

Sell gold?(FT)

Within a year, though, the gold bear market will have run its course, and Mr Bernanke’s other academic speciality, depression avoidance, will be called on. He and his counterparts in Europe, Japan and China will be called on to keep the global Ponzi scheme going, because the real economies cannot stand a bust in the financial economies. In anticipation of that rapid reversal, gold will take off as it hasn’t for a generation.

Renting a room(personal finance advice)

If you have extra space in your house, you may have considered renting out a room to bring in some extra cash and share the utility bill costs.

Luck OR Skill?(BBC)

But unpredictability is what makes entrepreneurship an interesting challenge - it is not an exact science to create a successful company, and life would be duller if it was.

Find a profitable Rental Property(plus6)

After multiple years of being a seller’s market the tides are turning, and buyers have the upper hand.

Gaming Google For Results(artofmoney)

I’ve never spent this much time scouring the Google SERPs on a single topic before and I have to say that the results returned were much lower quality than I would have predicted (I can only guess what the Yahoo and MSN results would have looked like, but I assume worse.)

Mortgage Default Causes(yahoo)

This raises an obvious question: Why was the mortgage-lending industry willing to make loans that were workable for the borrowers only if their properties appreciated?

Gold Price Opportunity

goldprice.gif

Things are looking rough for the gold price (in at least the short term). From the look of it, a fall to $670 - $667 at least is likely, hopefully it’ll bounce off that level. If you’re looking to speculate, stay away for a week or two.

If you’re buying gold for a long term (1 year +) then these blips shouldn’t concern you. Gold is on the up, and will be for a good few years to come.

Keep an eye on the dollar. If it falls, gold will benefit.

Buckminster Fuller Video

(the interview begins about 2:10)

From wikipedia:

In 1927 at the age of 32, bankrupt and jobless, living in inferior housing in Chicago, Illinois, he saw his beloved young daughter Alexandra die of the complications of polio and spinal meningitis. He felt responsible, and this drove him to drink and to the verge of suicide. At the last moment he decided instead to embark on “an experiment, to find what a single individual can contribute to changing the world and benefiting all humanity.”

Wow. Now that’s a goal for life.

It’s interesting to note that Buckminster with the exception of the geodesic dome, most of his inventions never were successful. above his inventions though, it’s his approach to life that impresses me the most. In reversing the old “scarcity” model in which humans have to fight over their allotment in life, he calculated that the earth had more than enough resources to support all of humanity. With plenty resources to live off, optimising our use and doing more with less, could give us all a comfortable existence. Instead of fighting wars, and going through such conflict and strife we should quite logically develop new tools to take advantage of the abundance that is all around us.
